Project Description:
Painting works at University Hospital Galway & Merlin Park University Hospital. We carry out a rolling programme of painting, repairs to walls and surfaces and the application of specialist antiseptic coatings. The works are carried out in theatres, laboratories, recovery areas, wards , corridors within all sections of these busy Acute Hospitals including coronary care, ICU, HDU, A&E, radiotherapy, maternity, mortuary, laboratories, clinics and offices. All works are carried out in accordance with the strict requirements of the Infection Control system and team. Measures taken vary in accordance with different areas of the hospital and include: Use of low odour paint / Cordoning off or encapsulation of work areas, erection of complete plastic bubbles around works, plastic air locks at entrance to works area / Vacuuming of all dust with HEPA filter vacuum Wearing scrubs and gowns for work in theatres / Frequent dampening of surfaces and wipe down to contain dust; Bagging and removal of all debris from site / Use of sticky contact mats and shoe covers to prevent contamination from footwear / Wearing scrubs and gowns for work in theatres.
